Good communication smoothes out a tough migration

Problem: REC Group is a world leader in the solar energy industry. The company had more than 600 users and workstations in four office locations across multiple states. To streamline operations and efficiencies, the company wanted to consolidate technologies across their enterprise. As part of this effort, REC sought to migrate their Microsoft Active Directory domains and Microsoft Exchange organizations to a single consolidated domain.

Solution: REC Group chose Marquam Group to design the structure of their system migration to a single Windows Active Directory domain. This required a high level of communication and project management with REC's large number of users across multiple states. The Marquam team managed the transition from multiple Exchange 5.5 servers to a single Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. Now REC has a single platform for security, user administration, e-mail, calendar, etc. This new infrastructure integrates all of the company's locations and users. It also provides significant cost savings on new mobile technologies.
